This book is fine in all respects. It appears un-read. The book is a collection of recipes, poetry and drawings drawn from plantation and Negro life in the Old South in the late 1800's. Most of the poems are in Negro dialect. The narrative takes a simplistic, and probably unrealistic, look at the Negro of the time. Worth the price of admission is the twenty or so black and white full-page drawings by Kathryn Burke depicting Negros at work and play. This book is 'as new' but we graded it a notch lower at 'fine'.
