BOELTER LITHOGRAPHY OF HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA WAS ONE OF THE FINEST LITHOGRAPHERS IN THE UNITED STATES AND FOR MANY YEARS, FROM THE 1930'S THROUGH THE 1950'S, THE FIRM CREATED SPECIAL CHRISTMAS CARDS TO BE GIVEN TO SPECIAL CUSTOMERS, INCLUDING ALL THE MAJOR FILM STUDIOS AND FILM STARS OF THE TIME. THE BOELTER FIRM COMMISSIONED ORIGINAL ART TO FOLLOW THE CHRISTMAS THEME SELECTED FOR THAT YEAR'S CARD, THEN USING FINE INKS, PAPERS, AND TECHNIQUES, THEY PRODUCED THESE BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS CARDS. THE NUMBER OF CARDS PRINTED EACH YEAR WAS USUALLY LESS THAN ONE THOUSAND.
