The dust jacket has numerous chips and tears, but the title and illustrations are intact. The sixty-cent price remains on the flap. The color paste-on illustration on front board is crisp and clear. The lovely illustrated endpapers of a boy and girl watrching birds is clean and clear and without markings. The interior of the book is free of marks, tears, chips or dog-ears. The 1920's style colored illustrations are clean and bright. The book is inscribed and signed by the author on the title page, August 28, 1926, the year of first publication.
