THE ATLAS OF DAWSON COUNTY, NEBRASKA containing maps, plats of the townships, rural directory, pictures of schools, churches, articles on agriculture, etc. This book has much more than this. There are ten full pages of advertisements of county businesses, stores and enterprises, most showing photographs of their owners and employees. There are pictures of farms and the families who own them and run them, some going back as far as1898. There are pictures of all the county schools, many with the children standing in front and pictures of all the county churches, There is a Dawson County Farm Building Location Map and the Dawson County Code Map. The map of the plats show the names of the owners of properties and farms. There is an alpabetical listing of the County residents providing the name of the owner of the farm, his farm number (where he lives), his building location number, his phone number, the names of his wife and children and miscellaneous information (religion, to which societies or organizations they belong, and the type of farming (General Farming, Farming and Ranching, etc.). There is a family tree-history section partially completed by previous owner. There is a brief pioneer history of the county. This book is graded fine. The boards are heavy black plastic with a 'pebbled' finish. The titling is bright and crisp in gold-gilt, with two illustrations of cattle, also in gold-gilt. All in all, this is a comprehensive study in great detail of Dawson County's people, land and history.
